This is my 90 gallon fish tank, I wanted all mbuna, but got shipped a haplichrome by accident. I like the Cyrtocara moorii, so I kept him (or her-- I can't tell what he or she is yet!) I like dance music, so I set the tune to Switch.

CLIPSHARE

DISCUS FISH high tank WHY NEED A HIGH TANK ?

High fish tank for discus. (H)117cm (L)61cm (W)38cm. Water volume: Top tank 271 litres / bottom tank 106 litres. The open bottom design allow fish to move from top to bottom tank without restriction. This tank is built due to breeder prefer very deep water depth ...... as they believe that the depth of water is important for the growth of high bodies. The high water depth theory is actually being practised by a lot of Hong Kong breeders and it is a small wonder that we see HK's discus having extremely high body. With bigger volume of water chances of water getting foul is much lower. The amnonia level will definitely increase to a higher concentration rapidly with a smaller volume of water.Massive cleaning is reduced and cleaning is also make simple. The submersible biological filter in used can be easily washed and taken out through the opening outlet at the bottom of the tank. Partial change of water, removing unwanted particles or placing of rocks / plants if require is carried out in the lower tank that include feeding.SETTING UP AN AQUARIUMMany of the elements in an aquarium, like the water, rocks, substrate and filtration systems, may consist of living matter like bacterial and algae, or chemical compounds which undergo biological processes and produce by-products that may either harm or benefit your fish. Therefore, whatever you decide to use in your aquarium setup will have a bearing on how livable the habitat you've created for your fish will be, and consequently how happy or miserable they will be.Before you go about acquiring items for your aquarium, consider their intended purposes, their suitability for your setup and the possible impact they might have on the aquarium's ecosystem. The general rule is that the bigger is better. The bigger tank holds a greater volume of water and provides more living space for your fish. But what's is important is that in the event of any deterioration in the water parameters, the resulting impact will be more dilute and there is a better chance of detecting problems that may follow. LOOKA tall, narrow tank looks more dramatic. But, cleaning it if this tank is upright with rocks and plant at the bottom is a problem. So the tall and narrow OPEN BOTTOM tank will make removing of dirt and cleaning more easily through the opening outlet.I welcome comments or ideas so as to further improve my aquarium. THANK YOU. For more video search for FISHFREEDOM. My email: hsk_7@Hotmail.com or call 98584206 Ho (SINGAPORE)

CLIPSHARE

Cichlid fsh tank / open bottom

Simplified fish tank. Water pump, suction pump, air pump and all accessories are concealed within tank to reduce mass. Changing of water for top tank is not require. Massive cleaning is redused as cleaning is make simple. Submersible bilogical filter helps to maintain clear water. Air in top tank is to create water current. Partial change of water, removing of unwanted particle if require is carried out in the bottom tank that include feeding. Opening outlet at bottom of toptank allow fish to move from top to bottom without restriction. Waterfall in lower tank provide extra oxygenation. As this is a CLOSED SYSTEM air in top tank is automitically replenished to replace lost oxygen.Taking away the stress of maintaining your aquarium will bring back the enjoyment that fish keeping once brought you. As you plunge deeper into it, you'll derive not only knowledge, but lots of joy in discovering more about the things you are passionate about, be it creating a lush aquascape or a thriving coral reef. With a proper system, you can spend more time enjoying your set up and less time worrying about maintenance. But the greatest reward is that once your aquarium is up and running, you'll be able to sit back without worrying about maintenance and enjoy the fascinating underwater world you've created, whenever you please. It's worthwhile to have a good filtration system, as maintaining a stable biological system is critical to your fishes' good healthSet up your aquarium, wait for one to two weeks to cycle before you purchase any fish. It is important for the cycling process to be established before you add any fish to the aquarium.Clean your aquarium every three weeks with partial change of water IF your tank is over crowded. Remove 25% of the water and top up with same amount. New developments in the aquarium industry have made it even easier than before to maintain an aquarium. The open bottom concept is very suitable for those busy people who have no time at all to maintain their tank yet love to keep one at home.ROLE OF BACTERIA IN THE NITROGEN CYCLEMany different kinds of bacteria are present in our bodies and throughout the environment, including water. There are aerobic (good) bacteria, which require oxygen, and anaerobic (bad) bacteria, which do not require oxygen. The bacteria in the aquarium will establish themselves on all the surfaces that are suitable for them to live on. These include the gravel, ornaments, tank walls and more importantly, the filter, where a majority of them will accumulate.Aerobic bacteria need three things to survive: a habitat, food and oxygen. The filter contains a medium that provides a large surface area on which bacteria colonies can establish themselves. The water flowing through the filter provides them with good food and oxygen. Food is derived from the decaying organic material in the water column ( uneaten food, fish waste, decaying plant matter). And the movement of flowing water will permit gaseous exchanges to occur, and as a result, oxygen to be produced.Normally, it takes the good bacteria approximately six to eight to be properly established before they can cope with a new aquarium's bio-load.The environment in a newly set-up aquarium is a sterile one. At this point, there simply any enough good bacteria to take on the bio-load. Therefore the amount of fish and food added to it should be limited, until adequate bacteria colonies are established. The first bacteria that develop are the nitrosomonas, which are hardy and efficient. Once established, these bacteria ingest and break down ammonia into nitrite -- this process occurs in the first stage of the nitrogen cycle. Ammonia, a by-product derived from the decomposition of the organic matter, is extremely toxic to fish. Its level will peak then decline, as the growing population of nitrosomonas feed on it.In the next stage of the cycle, bacteria called nitrobacter will in turn ingest the nitrite and convert it into nitrate, which is the least toxic form of the three by-products. However, unlike nitrosomonas, nitrobacter are slower to develop and less hardy. As they are not as robust and easily affected by chemical treatments and changes in water quality. In nature, plants and algae absorb nitrate for use in metabolic processes: but in an aquarium, it is almost impossible to have a large enough number of plants to absorb the entire nitrate in it. Therefore, the best way to remove nitrate and keep the environment stable is through regular PARTIAL water change.Any good suggestions to further improve this set-up please email: hsk_7@Hotmail.com or call 98584206 (Singapore) For more video search for FISHFREEDOM

CLIPSHARE

FISH TANK OPEN BOTTOM

WHY AN OPEN BOTTOM TANK ?Very suitable for those busy people who have no time at all to maintain their tank yet love to keep one at homeSubmersible biological filter in lower tank helps to maintain clear water. Water change and massive cleaning is minimized. Cleaning is also make simple. Partial change of water and removing of dirt particle, if require, is carried out in the lower tank that include feeding. All rocks and plants in top tank are placed 12cm above bottom tank to allow easy access should siphoning of dirt is needed. Rocks need not have to be removed while cleaning is in progress.Water current in top tank is activated by air pump.Fish able to move from bottom tank to top tank without restriction. Mini waterfall in lower tank is to provide extra oxygenation of the water. The open bottom design allows replacement of plants and decoration as often as you like.BUYING NEW FISHFish aren't exactly the expensive sort. They don't wag their tails or purr, so it's really hard to tell if and when they are happy or sad. But they do have feelings and can feel stressed, just like us. They also have likes and dislikes, and character traits of their own. And surely, they would wish to "live happily ever after" too!So never buy a fish just because it strikes your fancy while you are out "window shopping" at the aquarium outlets. If you intend to acquire new fish for your aquarium, do a little of homework before you go shopping, so you can provide a suitable home for your new pet for all of its life. Here are some questions you should ask when buying new fish:HOW BIG WILL IT GROW?Think long-term. Find out the approximate size the fish can be expected to eventually reach. Make sure you have a large enough tank for your fish to live comfortably in. Since a tank can support about one inch of fish per gallon, you wouln't want to keep a fish that might grow six inches long if you have a tiny tank! Lack of space could stunt it's growth and shorten its life unnecessarily.WILL IT GET ALONG WTH THE OTHERS IN MY AQUARIUM?Some fish are territorial and will not tolerate the presence of any other types of fish, and are best kept completely on their own.IS MY AQUARIUM SETUP SUITABLE FOR IT?Depending on the characteristics and habits of the fish you are eyeing, these are some of the things you have to consider:If it's timid or reclusive fish, are there enough nooks and crannies for it to hide in? If it's a big fish, is there enough open space for it to swim in? Is the fish a voracious herbivore that will eat up your carefully planted aquascape? The condition of water is important as well: Is the temperature range of the water acceptable to the fish? How effective is the filtration system? Is there any risk of upsetting the equilibrium of the aquarium if you add more fish to it?WHAT DOES IT EAT?Most aquarium fish eat flakes, but some like to have treats like freeze-dried worms, bugs, plants and even small animals in their diet. Find out what type of food your new fish likes to eat, so you can take home its favorites foods at the same time.Don't treat fish as "disposable pets" and let your ignorance cause them to die a premature or painful death. FILTERING SYSTEMWith a proper system, you can spend more time enjoying your set up and less time worrying about maintenance. New developments in the aquarium industry have made it even easier than before to maintain an aquarium.Note: Water level will stay with or without power supply.Only partial change of water is required.Any good suggestions to further improve my tank pls email: hsk_7@Hotmail.com or call hp: 98584206 Ho (Singapore)Thank you.

CLIPSHARE
